The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has released a new Request for Information (RFI) to inform the development of a National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing. Through this RFI, OSTP seeks input on federal efforts to advance U.S. manufacturing competitiveness, including advanced manufacturing research and development (R&D). The RFI specifically states the need to “accelerate research and development, dismantle regulatory barriers, strengthen domestic supply chains and manufacturing, spur robust private sector investment, and advance American companies in global markets to ensure the United States is the unrivaled world leader in advanced technologies.” The RFI includes 12 specific questions to inform the 2026 Trump Administration’s plan.
Responses must be submitted by September 30, 2025. More information can be found in the Lewis-Burke report.
