Policy Update: President Trump Signs Seven Education Focused Executive Orders

On April 23, President Trump, joined by Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, signed seven Executive Orders (EOs) focused on education and workforce training. These include directives for the Department of Education to enact new foreign funding transparency efforts, a new process and scrutiny regarding institutional accreditation, an overhaul of federal workforce training programs, and significant new efforts around Artificial Intelligence (AI) education and workforce development, among other topics.
