Lewis-Burke Associates has provided campus with a report about recent activities, emerging priorities, and future opportunities within the Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) program. ASCR primarily funds applied math and computer science research programs and builds and operates the government’s most advanced high performance computing facilities. This analysis is based on information from the hybrid ASCR Advisory Committee (ASCAC) meeting held on September 28, 2023 final fiscal year (FY) 2023 appropriations, the FY 2024 President’s budget request, the House and Senate FY 2024 Energy and Water bills, the release of new workshop reports and discussions with DOE program managers.
