Lewis-Burke Assosicates have provided us with a report about NSF's Experiential Learning for Emerging and Novel Technologies (ExLENT) program. The ExLENT program provides funding to support experiential learning opportunities that increase access to emerging technology careers for individuals no matter their educational or career background. The ExLENT solicitation supports proposals across three tracks, all focused on individuals with different levels of STEM education or workforce experience:
- Pivots: The Pivots track is focused on individuals with relevant skills in non-emerging technology fields that are not currently enrolled in post-secondary education, including current workers who are interested in upskilling or re-skilling to change their careers.
- Beginnings: The Beginnings track is focused on individuals who have some STEM competencies, such as stackable certificates or associate’s degrees, with work-based learning experiences to continue to grow STEM skills relevant to emerging technology fields.
- Explorations: The Explorations track is focused on individuals with very limited to no specialized STEM education and is intended to inspire them to explore careers in emerging technology fields. Individuals enrolled in both traditional and non-traditional educational pathways can be served by this track.
