Lewis-Burke has provided campus with a report about NSF's new solicitation for Security, Privacy, and Trust in Cyberspace 2.0. The solicitation aims to increase trust in global cyber ecosystems and includes the security, privacy, and resilience of cyberspace. SaTC 2.0 includes the NSF Directorates for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE), Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS), Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE), and STEM Education (EDU), but not the Engineering Directorate as in previous competitions. Note that the original SaTC program stood for “Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC), the updated solicitation includes Privacy.
SaTC 2.0 will support Research awards up to $1.2 million for four years; Education awards up to $500,000 for three years; and Seedling awards in topic areas defined through Dear Colleague Letters up to $300,00 for two years. Full proposals are due by September 29, 2025, and January 26, 2026, and annually thereafter. Total annual funding of up to $60 million is expected for this program and there are limits on the number of proposals per PI described in the solicitation.
