Lewis-Burke Associates has provided campus with a report about the U.S. Department of Education's notice of inviting applications (NIA) for the fiscal year (FY) 2024 Mental Health Service Professional (MHSP) Demonstration Grant Program. This program aims to diversify and increase the number of mental health providers in K-12 schools through partnerships with high-need local educational agencies (LEAs) and institutions of higher education (IHEs). Partnerships must include (1) one or more high-need LEAs or a State educational agency (SEA) on behalf of one or more high-need LEAs and (2) one or more eligible institutions of higher education. The partnerships must support the placement of graduate students in school-based mental health fields into high-need schools. Proposals may also support the development of health career pathways and paraprofessional support degree programs.
