Lewis-Burke Associates has provided campus with a report about four Dear Colleague Letters (DCLs) inviting proposals for funding across several programs to strengthen STEM education and STEM education research across the United States. The DCLs cover a wide range of topics within STEM education, including improving use of AI in the classroom to advance inclusive computing education, support for proposals to pursue mid-scale research infrastructure awards to support STEM education research, adapting and disseminating evidence-based practices to improve undergraduate STEM learning, and mechanisms to transform engineering education to address environmental and social sustainability. The DCLs are:
- Advancing Education for the Future AI Workforce
- Mid-scale Research Infrastructure Incubators and Conferences for STEM Education Research with a Focus on Education Equity
- Improving Undergraduate STEM Education-Adaptation, Implementation, and Dissemination
- NSF-Lemelson Initiative on Environmental and Social Sustainability in Engineering Education
