Lewis-Burke Associates has provided campus with a report about DARPA's Young Faculty Award (YFA) program. This program’s objective is to identify and support “rising stars in junior research positions” at higher education and non-profit institutions that have yet to receive funding from DARPA. DARPA invites "innovative research proposals" that target a single technical area from one of the following participating offices: the Defense Sciences Office (DSO), Microsystems Technology Office (MTO), Information Innovation Office (I2O), and Tactical Technology Office (TTO). Detailed descriptions of this year’s technical areas and key interests are provided in the full RA. Proposers must be “current tenured track faculty position, tenured faculty within 3 years of their tenure date, or an equivalent at a non-profit research institution within 12 years of the receipt of their doctorate.” Executive summaries are due by November 18, 2024, at 4:00 PM ET and full proposals are due by February 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM ET. More information about the FY 2025 YFA program can be found in the report.
